America First Senate candidate for Montana, Tim Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, talked to WarRoom host Kash Patel about the urgent nature of his campaign and the intense competition he faces from the radical left. Sheehy, who is running in a state that has not consistently elected Republicans to the Senate, focused on the significance of his race in the national political landscape.
Sheehy emphasized that his campaign is currently “tied” with his opponent, but he is concerned about the influx of “unlimited out-of-state, dark money” and the potential for “every dirty trick” to be used against him in the final months before the election.
“We are the firewall,” Sheehy declared, highlighting the pivotal role Montana plays in determining the balance of power in the Senate.
Winning Montana is not just about securing a Senate seat he told Patel; it’s about controlling the legislative agenda and supporting Trump’s policy priorities.
Sheehy outlined the stakes involved: “If we win Montana and win the Senate, it means that Trump’s agenda can move forward and that we can protect the integrity of our judiciary.” Conversely, if he loses, the Senate remains under Democrat control, which would hinder the advancement of conservative policies and appointments. Sheehy pointed out that this election is crucial not just for Montana, but for the entire country, as it impacts Trump’s ability to implement his agenda and ensure constitutional governance.
Sheehy also addressed the significant challenges his campaign faces. Despite being “outspent five to one, ten to one” at times, he has managed to rise in the polls, attributing this success to his focus on “common sense” issues that resonate with voters. He explained that the election is a partisan battle and a contest of fundamental principles.
“This is about bringing common sense back to our country,” Sheehy said, emphasizing issues like border security, economic stability, and support for law enforcement.
Sheehy’s campaign has faced substantial obstacles, including a media landscape that he believes is biased against Republican candidates. “The media will twist the words of anybody to ensure that the Democrats, especially powerful incumbent Democrats like John Tester, have every possible favorable news outlet,” Sheehy observed. This media bias, combined with the financial advantage of his opponents, has made the race particularly challenging.
Sheehy also noted the support he has received from Montana’s Republican leadership, including the governor and Secretary of State. This support is vital in ensuring that “Montana’s elections are secure and fair.” He highlighted the importance of robust election security measures, including in-person voting and voter ID laws, to counteract potential issues. “We need to win with the rules on the books right now if we have any chance of changing the rules on the books,” Sheehy stressed.
As he campaigns across the state, Sheehy said he is urging Montana voters to participate in the electoral process. He also called for support from outside Montana, stating, “Unfortunately, votes win elections, but money fuels elections.” Sheehy’s campaign is seeking contributions to help counteract the substantial spending advantage of his opponents.
