In a Wednesday WarRoom conversation, Texas State Rep. Brian Harrison and Steve Bannon ripped into the Texas GOP leadership for surrendering to Democrats in the first special session, failing on property tax relief, flood relief, and redistricting — and they warned the fight starts fresh this Friday.
Quick Clip:
TEXAS REP. BRIAN HARRISON: Texas Republicans have made a string of empty threats.
In reality, it’s all misdirection. Cover for a leadership that’s been aligned with radical Marxist Democrats for decades.@brianeharrison pic.twitter.com/UBZ7iPnT81

Here is what they laid out to the WarRoom Posse:
You’ve been tracking this fight in Texas. You’ve heard Brian Harrison lay it out plainly for weeks — the so-called "Republican” leadership in Austin just handed the Democrats a clean sweep in the first special session. Zero wins on property tax relief. Zero wins on flood relief for Kerrville. And the Democrats walked away with redistricting in their pocket.
This is not just "Texas politics.” This is what Bannon says is the tip of the spear for the entire MAGA movement. Texas goes soft, America goes soft. And if America goes soft, the whole world follows.
What Happened
Harrison explained that the Texas Senate finally moved on redistricting — with only four days left in the special session. Why didn’t they do it in Week One? Because the "Austin Uniparty” wasn’t in any hurry. Governor Abbott talks tough, but unless he’s forced to act, he doesn’t. The Lt. Governor? Missing in action. And the Texas House Speaker — elected with Democrat support — might as well be wearing a blue jersey.
They promised arrests for Democrats who fled their duty. They vowed to vacate seats. They promised consequences. What did Texans get? A meaningless stunt about paper paychecks that won’t even take effect before the next session starts. They didn’t take away parking spots. They didn’t strip seniority. They didn’t do one serious thing to hold the Democrats accountable.
The Reality
Texas’s "low tax, small government” reputation is a myth. Harrison explained that Texas has some of the highest property taxes in the nation — thanks to weak, feckless "Republicans” who have been colluding with Democrats for decades. And they’ve been getting away with it because the people weren’t watching.
But that’s changing. The eyes of Texas — and the country — are on Austin. The old tricks of doing liberal things and blaming "those pesky Democrats” aren’t working anymore.
Why It Matters Now
This Friday, Round Two begins. A new special session. Another shot at delivering the conservative victories Texans voted for — and another chance for the establishment to sell out.
The stakes? Representation
- Property tax relief — Texans are drowning under some of the highest property taxes in America.
- Flood relief — The Kerrville disaster is still unresolved.
- Redistricting — We can’t let Democrats redraw maps to lock in control.
Harrison has begged the question: If Texas can’t deliver on these priorities under a Republican governor, a Republican senate, and a Republican house — then what’s the point of winning elections?
Harrison explains “What You Need to Do — Right Now”:
- Get Loud – Call Governor Abbott’s office. Call Lt. Gov. Patrick. Call your state rep and your state senator. Demand they deliver property tax relief, flood relief, and redistricting in the next session. No excuses. No delays.
- Name Names – Don’t let "the legislature” be the scapegoat. Call out the Speaker, the Governor, and the Lt. Governor by name when they fail. The Uniparty survives on anonymity. Rip the mask off.
- Use Social Media as a Weapon – Follow Brian Harrison on X (@BrianBHarrison). Like, share, and amplify his updates.
- Expose the Myths – Every time you hear someone talk about "low tax Texas,” tell them about our crushing property taxes and the Austin swamp. Truth kills their talking points.
- Hold the Line in Public – Show up at town halls, GOP club meetings, and political events. Ask the hard questions in front of cameras. Force them to answer.
- Track the Votes – Don’t rely on press releases. Read the bills. Watch the votes. Share them publicly. Let’s keep a scoreboard so Texans know precisely who’s on their side.
Why We Should All Care:
Bannon explained it and said that Texas is the front line. If the Republican establishment can get away with failing here, they’ll get away with it everywhere.
The Posse is watching. The clock is ticking. Round Two starts Friday. Let’s make sure they know the WarRoom posse is coming.
