“The Mexican cartels … used to get somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 million a year off the smuggling — now they are up to $13 billion a year, and what do you think they are doing with that money? They are plowing it into military hardware investment. What that does is it increases the power on the ground vis a vis the Mexican military, and that means they are coming after American interests at some point, probably already now.”
