Why Kari Lake’s Run Matters
The battle for Arizona’s Senate seat is about more than just local politics—it’s a critical piece of President Trump’s broader border security agenda. Reuben Gallego’s questionable connections and his voting record on immigration have raised concerns about the future of Arizona and U.S. border policies. With Gallego’s ties to the cartels and his support for open borders, Kari Lake’s candidacy stands as a pivotal move to protect Trump’s America First platform.
Reuben Gallego’s Cartel Connections and Hypocrisy
Peter Navarro and Jordan Conradson from the Gateway Pundit appeared on Wednesday’s WarRoom and wasted no time highlighting Gallego’s connections to the Mexican drug cartels. Conradson bluntly stated, "Reuben Gallego doesn’t even deny that his father was a cartel drug trafficker.” During a recent press conference, Gallego admitted this while shedding “fake tears” over his father’s criminal past.
This raises alarm because, as Conradson pointed out, "The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Gallego’s personal history adds another layer of hypocrisy: while condemning his father’s abandonment of their family, he is guilty of abandoning his pregnant ex-wife, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, to shack up with a D.C. lobbyist. This paints a clear picture of a man who, in Navarro’s words, "fails the character test.”
Gallego’s Open Borders Voting Record
It’s not just Gallego’s personal life that raises concerns; his voting record is equally troubling. Conradson labeled him a "total open borders zealot.” He supported policies that weaken border security and help drug cartels operate more freely. Some of his more notorious votes include opposing Trump’s declaration of a national emergency at the southern border and voting against the Secure the Border Act of 2023. Navarro listed several other dangerous votes, such as Gallego’s refusal to increase penalties for illegal immigrants and his efforts to prevent the removal of gang members and national security threats.
"Gallego’s record makes him the drug cartels’ best friend and border security’s worst nightmare,” Conradson emphasized. Gallego also co-sponsored the Safeguarding Sanctuary Cities Act, voted to end Trump’s Title 42 immigration restrictions, and supported measures that give illegal immigrants access to U.S. taxpayer funds during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump’s Border Wall and Gallego’s Opposition
Gallego’s disdain for Trump’s border wall is well-documented. He called the wall "stupid and useless,” despite the critical role it plays in curbing illegal immigration and drug trafficking.
The Importance of Arizona’s Senate Seat
Arizona’s Senate race is pivotal, especially regarding the future of U.S. border security. With Gallego running on a platform that undermines border enforcement, Republicans view Kari Lake as the key to securing the seat and pushing Trump’s agenda forward. Conradson didn’t mince words when describing Gallego’s opposition to Trump’s policies, saying Gallego called Trump’s border wall "stupid and useless.”
Navarro pointed out that Gallego voted with the Biden-Harris administration "100% of the time” on border issues. This includes co-sponsoring the Safeguarding Sanctuary Cities Act of 2017 and voting to give $1,200 stimulus payments to illegal immigrants during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gallego also voted to end Trump’s Title 42 immigration restrictions, further weakening border security.
Why Kari Lake is Key to Trump’s Border Agenda
Kari Lake’s Senate run represents more than just another election. It’s a battle for the future of border security in Arizona, and her victory is essential to President Trump’s plans to secure the southern border. Gallego’s weak stance on immigration and ties to the drug cartels make him a significant threat to Trump’s agenda, which is why Lake is the clear choice for conservatives.
Navarro stressed the stakes: “Arizona needs a senator who will prioritize border security and defend American families from the ongoing crisis.” The upcoming Senate race is about much more than just Arizona. It’s about the direction of the country’s immigration policies and whether Trump’s border wall will ever be completed.
