BEN HARNWELL (HOST): “Okay, so to give an indication of just how the Catholic Church, the so called Catholic Church, we’re constantly in search here on the WarRoom for anything Catholic about the institutional Catholic Church in the United States to see the decline. That is Frank Walker.
You have this quite surprising story of a return to the church, but though all is not as it seems. What I suggest, Denver, is while Frank is talking, perhaps we could have some of the video footage just playing on in the background of this joyous occasion. And Frank will give us the lowdown.
So basically, this Gio Benitez, who’s an openly gay ABC News weekend anchor… yeah. James Martin, who’s, who, tell us the lowdown.”
FRANK WALKER (GUEST): “The very famous Father James Martin, who never goes away, was there. And he tweet, Father Martin tweeted out a picture of this event alongside a, this weekend, last weekend, a baby that was just baptized around the same time, giving the impression that this baby belonged to this gay couple. But he was just taunting everybody, but because this confirmation happened separately.
But this Gio Benitez, I mean, this is taking it, I think, to a new level, because he is a well known ABC correspondent. He’s a host of many different shows. He’s on Good Morning America. He’s just on regular ABC News. He hosted this some reality show, What Would You Do? He’s been around quite a while.
He got gay married in Miami. I think he’s like a Cuban from Miami, so it has a Catholic background, I expect. But in this event, this is a polyapostal church in New York City. It’s really just like sort of a staged reality TV type thing. These kinds of gay parishes in big cities have been going on for, I don’t know, ten, twenty years now. And they’ve always been an abomination. But they’re going to a new level now. They’re turning into propaganda and into sites.
So this man tweeted out this, you know, music from his, from his confirmation event, which is a very unusual event. I mean, there wasn’t, usually there’s a bishop at a confirmation. And, and, but here there was just the, there was four priests, like all the priests associated with this gay parish. And, you know, they, they don’t, they, they have the chrism that they would put on your forehead, but they invented this thing with each priest went around and put their hand on his head.
But when you listen to the music, and it was sung by some famous actress, I think from Law and Order perhaps. She sang it, but it sounded, unfortunately, like most Catholic Masses that you will hear. The gay music is common in all Catholic Masses.
Anyway, this event is filled with him speaking about how he came back to the church because of Pope Francis and now because of Leo, because of Father Martin. He thanks all four priests, and it’s true Francis had advocacy for gay people, making a big stunt out of it, and he even had tranny prostitutes from Rome and have Mass at the Vatican every few weeks. He had an outreach to their community. And Leo has echoed the same kind of thing. And so he’s saying he taught me welcoming. He taught me that I have a tabernacle of God in my heart.
It’s sad when you hear it because the tabernacle of God is Our Lady and it’s also the law. And neither of those things, Jesus, who would be Our Lady’s son, or Our Lady or God’s law, belong in this man’s heart at all. He doesn’t believe these things. And he says, I saw all my relatives from the past, my uncles, my grandparents, all there with me, even though there wasn’t anybody there really. But he’s saying that the past, the theology, is all gone. And now the past is all part of my ceremony.”
BEN HARNWELL (HOST): “You’re quite right. He said he saw all of his relatives sitting in the empty pews, all of his past, all of his deceased relatives, he said, in amongst the empty pews. Now, you’re quite right, he did absolutely attribute his conventional, technically a reversion, he was baptized as a kid, I think as Catholic, to Pope Francis’s legacy of inclusivity.”
