Peter Navarro: “It’s Criminal What Jerome Powell Has Been Doing At The Fed”

Peter Navarro and Dave Brat discussed the fallout from the Federal Reserve’s decisions and global trade policy under President Trump. Navarro argued that interest rates are at least 100 basis points too high, stifling jobs and economic growth, and praised Trump-era tariffs for stabilizing prices without triggering inflation spirals. He highlighted India’s high tariffs and energy deals with Russia as a threat to U.S. economic and strategic interests, arguing Trump’s reciprocal tariffs were justified. Navarro criticized Fed economists for failing to prioritize American workers, stressed the importance of competent Fed leadership, and praised recent market rallies as signals of potential rate cuts and economic improvement.

Phillip Patrick: The Fed As An Institution Has Been Very Ineffective

Dave Brat and Phillip Patrick agreed that the Federal Reserve has become politicized, keeping rates too high despite weak employment and easing inflation. Patrick argued rates should be at least 100 basis points lower, noting every cut frees $160 billion for President Trump to fuel growth. Both warned of the balancing act: lower rates risk reigniting inflation, but austerity alone won’t fix deficits. Brat contrasted Europe’s Keynesian spending with Trump’s supply-side strategy of tax cuts, tariffs, and capital investment. They praised progress under Trump but cautioned lingering Biden-era spending still threatens deficits, inflation, and long-term growth stability.

Mark Mitchell: “We’re Racking Up Wins But We’re Not Out Of The Woods Yet, The Republicans Are In A Really Bad Spot”

Dave Brat and Rasmussen’s Mark Mitchell reviewed polling showing Americans still demand accountability but distrust government power. Around 45% doubt there will be criminal consequences, yet majorities support action: 57% favor arrests over the Russia hoax, 63% want FBI probes into debanking. Even with Trump in charge, skepticism remains, as 48% view the Bolton raid as revenge, not national security. On AI, 70% express concern, and younger voters lean heavily toward wealth redistribution if jobs vanish. Mitchell warned Republicans not to misread youth trends, populism drives them, but they demand real accountability against the entrenched uniparty system.

Patrick K. O’Donnell Commemorates Those Who Fought In The Battle Of Brooklyn 249 Years Ago

Patrick K. O’Donnell, senior resident scholar at Mount Vernon, discussed his 14th book on the American Revolution, highlighting the heroism of units like the doomed Seventh Independent Company and the Maryland 400, who sacrificed to save Washington’s army. Immersed in original documents and artifacts at George Washington’s library, O’Donnell emphasized the founders’ cautious foreign policy, prioritizing sovereignty and avoiding entanglements with Europe. Drawing parallels to today, he suggested Washington would warn against America overextending itself globally. Brat and O’Donnell underscored the Revolutionary generation’s legacy of courage and strategic foresight, framing it as a guide for preserving liberty under President Trump’s leadership.

Thayer: Every Day The Ukraine-Russia War Goes On China Wins, The US Is Distracted

Dave Brat and Dr. Bradley Thayer discussed the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, emphasizing its horrific casualties on both sides. Dr. Thayer stressed that President Trump is focused on ending the conflict, both for humanitarian reasons and to prevent U.S. distraction from the strategic threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party. He highlighted that wars of attrition are hard to resolve, noting that realistic compromises will be required from both Ukraine and Russia. Thayer argued that Trump’s intervention offers a genuine opportunity to end the war, underscoring that prolonging it benefits adversaries and strains U.S. military and intelligence resources.

Dave Brat and Ben Bergquam discussed the state of U.S. border security and the global drug trade, highlighting President Trump’s efforts to secure the southern border. Bergquam described firsthand experiences with Border Patrol and ICE, emphasizing increased enforcement compared to the Biden administration. He framed Mexico as a "cartel state” and Venezuela as a communist conduit for drugs, stressing that the war on the southern border is a critical national security issue. The conversation expanded to foreign and domestic actors undermining America, including NGOs, the United Nations, and corrupt politicians, who Bergquam described as the primary enablers of drug trafficking and illegal immigration. Trump’s administration, he argued, is uniquely positioned to target these threats. Bergquam connected these efforts to broader principles of justice, emphasizing that protecting Americans—especially children from exploitation—is paramount. The discussion framed Trump as leading a coordinated approach to both domestic and international security threats.

Bergquam: We Need To End The War In Ukraine So We Can Take The Fight To Cartels In Mexico
