Russ Vought, President Trump’s director of the Office of Management and Budget, tells host Steve Bannon that he doesn’t think Kevin McCarthy is up to the job of speaker of the House and that Republicans need to send a message to him now that his time as GOP leader is up.
“This is an important position… I’ve been a staffer in leadership, and I just know that there is no one in the current team that thinks on a paradigm-shattering level the way we do on this program, the way that Donald Trump does, and so we have an opportunity… now we’re talking about a very very small minority that can deny him [McCarthy] the speakership.”
