Steve Bannon marked January 6 as a significant day constitutional remedy, arguing it was the last lawful constitutional path to address the stolen 2020 election.

Why January 6 Was A Constitutional Remedy
STEVE BANNON (HOST):
It’s Tuesday, 6 January, the year of our Lord 2026. It is five years to the day of January 6.
I’ve already heard from some of the engine room folks with the comment, finally, Steve, a cold open that we like. You know, have the MSNBC crowd or CNN on there, or the haters, the haters against President Trump.
One of the most significant days in American history, and I don’t say that lightly. This was a day that people stood up and said we’re just not going to allow the 2020 election to be stolen.
Remember, theoretically, what was supposed to happen that day is that Mike Pence was going to, because he had already inquiries, a letter from the state of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and others coming in, they were going to say they couldn’t certify the electors on that day. That they were going to give some time for these states like Georgia and Pennsylvania and Arizona and others to see if they could sort out the mess back in their home states with the stolen votes, the mail in ballot fiasco where they tried to steal it.
And now, since you’ve had this situation in Venezuela, we may actually get to the bottom of the machine. A situation with Sidney Powell and others were all over at the time. And I think, I think and I hope that we’ll be getting all the information out about that, or we’ll be getting it from the folks in Venezuela.
But what was going to happen, or supposed to happen, in I don’t know, a week or ten days, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Arizona and others would say, hey, we just can’t certify the Biden electors. Not that they would put forward a slate of Trump electors. You just couldn’t certify this because of the outright stealing of the Democratic Party. They could not be certified.
What would happen? It would get thrown in, according to the Constitution and the Electoral Count Act of 1887. It would get kicked into the House of Representatives for what’s called a contingent election. In the House, members don’t vote actually individually. You vote as a state party delegation.
And at that time, I think it was 25 to 24 to 1, or 25 23, was we would have won by one or two votes. Now the question, would Liz Cheney, being the sole vote in Wyoming, have voted? Well, we don’t know. But we would have won the contingent election and Donald Trump would have been, from the House, selected as the winner in the presidential election of 2020.
You do not go back and revote. That’s something people get confused about. There’s no revote, no vote on the popular vote. What happens on Election Day stays on Election Day. If the electors cannot be certified then, and there’s a method for this, because they’ve had these problems back, particularly in the 19th century. They had a lot of problems post Civil War, as you can imagine. And that’s how they came up with the Electoral Count Act of 1887.
The reason they came out with the Electoral Count Act of 1887 is, I think, they had too much difficulty in trying to change the Constitution.
Now, you should know that in the dark of night, Mitch McConnell used these must pass bills to change the Electoral Count Act of 1887. I think that is unconstitutional and has been checked by the courts.
But the working class and middle class folks that showed up on January 6 and went down to the Ellipse and heard the president, and the president really made a case in quite a very focused, tough legal argument that made his case in the different states. Of course, Rudy was there and others. The mainstream media picked out a couple of things, but President Trump wanted people to go up peacefully, as he said, peacefully, and make sure people understood that they knew what was going on.
Just to reiterate, the 2020 election was stolen. And now President Trump, over the last couple of days, has been putting up some stuff on Truth Social that I think shows that the White House and the administration are very serious about getting to the bottom of this system.
President Trump said, when he came out to Anacostia after the historic victory of 2024, he came to an event. Charlie Kirk invited him to give it, all the work that Charlie Kirk had done and the Turning Point Action team had done in making sure that President Trump was the winner, particularly in states like Pennsylvania and Arizona.
And I would actually say that you could point to Turning Point as being the group that actually took critical states and made sure that President Trump had a victory.
President Trump came out there, and for the first time he said this on the stage at Turning Point in Phoenix right before Christmas of 2024. He said the entire reason that I ran again in 2024 is not personally about vengeance or retribution or showing that I was right. But I had to do that for the country’s sake. We cannot let them steal a presidential election, and that’s what they did.
Now, Michael, sure, one of the things that President Trump posted, and maybe we can get our crew team to pull that, I think ahead of what together the other night, was Dr. Michael Scheuer. He’s a very quite controversial guy. He was the head of the bin Laden team at the CIA before 9/11. He wrote a book under the anonymous name that came out in those days in the early 2000s, in which he really laid bare many of the issues we had geopolitically.
Particularly in his search for bin Laden in the mountains and the flares he was setting up, bin Laden. But he just put out the other day, and President Trump reposted it, to say on 3 November of 2020 the CIA had a coup.
And we know from all the information that’s out there, and then what happened in 2024, with their potential involvement, because we still don’t have clarity over the Butler situation in 2020. We know in the run up to it, as we released the laptop from hell and all the damning information about the corruption.
Forget the sexual antics of his son, of Hunter Biden. What was in there about the Chinese Communist Party? What was in there about Ukraine? What was in there about, is the president compromised? Is the president compromised?
