"These Democrats chose Illinois—a state with 14 Democrat representatives and only three Republicans,” Paxton told host Steve Bannon. "They’re hiding behind political theater and donor money instead of showing up to do their job.”
Paxton made clear: this is a state issue. Despite outside noise and calls to involve the FBI, he reminded listeners that the federal government has no jurisdiction over this internal matter. "We’re exploring all legal tools at the state level, and arrests are absolutely on the table,” Paxton said. "We’ve already notified each absent lawmaker that if they fail to appear by Friday, we will take action to vacate their seats.”
