Gina Swoboda, Chairwoman of the Arizona Republicans, appeared on Tuesday’s WarRoom and delivered a no-holds-barred critique of establishment Republicans, who she claims have betrayed the party’s core values for decades. Swoboda, a staunch supporter of the Trump Revolution and the America First movement, made it clear that the time has come to reclaim the GOP from what she calls “pretend Republicans” who have been grifting off the party.
“All the rhinos are being flushed out, and they’re saying they’re not going to vote. My response: bring it on,” Harnwell declared, setting the tone for a conversation focused on the need for the Republican Party to return to its populist roots.
At the end of her remarks, Swoboda emphasized her preference to unite rather than divide within the Republican Party. She expressed that while she recognizes some Republicans may be hesitant to embrace the populist movement, she would rather educate and bring them on board than alienate them.
Swoboda told Harnwell, “I need them to vote with us. I’m not interested in punching them in the face as much as I am in educating them.”
She said her focus is on fostering understanding and cooperation to strengthen the party’s unified front against the radical left agenda she sees as a threat.
Swoboda went on and expressed delight at seeing Kari Lake, Arizona’s Republican Senate candidate, stand firm in her convictions despite attempts by some to push her towards a more centrist stance. “I’m not moving my positions,” Lake said in an interview, a sentiment Swoboda applauds as reflective of most Arizonans.
Swoboda didn’t mince words when discussing figures like Mesa Mayor John Giles, whom she criticized for endorsing Democrats while maintaining a Republican label. “That guy has endorsed Biden and Obama, yet keeps the Republican brand on his voter registration. He doesn’t vote Republican based on his endorsements,” Swoboda stated, calling out what she sees as a betrayal of the party’s principles. She also noted the desperation of Democrats in finding so-called Republican supporters, pointing out that the other individuals in a recent clip, Sam Campana and Robin Shaw, haven’t held office in decades. “They’re really scraping the bottom of the barrel,” she quipped.
The Arizona GOP Chair underscored the drastic shift in the political landscape, arguing that the current Democratic platform is far more liberal than ever before. “If you looked at Bill Clinton’s platform in 1992, that’s far closer to where the Republican platform is now than where the Democrat platform is,” Swoboda remarked, highlighting how the Overton window has shifted so far left that many Americans no longer recognize the Democratic Party.
Swoboda also issued a stern warning to those within the Republican Party who are reluctant to embrace populism. “There’s no runway left for this country. If there are people who don’t like this candidate and don’t like populism, so they’re just going to let it burn and walk away, I have news for them: You need to vote with us because Arizona lost the entire executive branch to basically radical Marxists in the last cycle.”
She emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that if the GOP loses the Arizona legislature and fails to secure President Trump’s return to close the border, “there ain’t no coming back, baby.”
Despite her sharp criticism of establishment Republicans, Swoboda made it clear that she isn’t interested in alienating them but rather in educating and bringing them back into the fold. “I need them to vote with us. I’m not interested in punching them in the face as much as I am in educating them.”
Swoboda’s message is a clarion call to Republicans across the spectrum: unite under the banner of America First, or risk losing the country to what she describes as a radical, far-left agenda. “You can’t have it both ways,” she concluded, urging those who still align with the GOP platform to stand with the party and reject the radicalism of the current Democratic leadership.
