In a Wednesday discussion on the War Room,US Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) addressed the unjust nature of the inarcaration of Steve Bannon, providing a candid evaluation of his political persecution and the broader implications for justice and government accountability by a weaponized government.

Senator Paul expressed strong disapproval of the treatment Bannon has faced in the entire legal process of the Democat dominated House Commitee on Jan 6th, framing it as a symptom of a larger problem within the political and legal systems.

"I told the House leadership in the very beginning, the January 6 committee should have been continued. Everybody on it should have been fired,” Paul told show host, Dave Brat.

Paul criticized the committee’s composition and its handling of subpoenas, suggesting that it was biased and politically motivated. Paul argued that the committee should have been reconstituted with half the seats for Republicans to ensure a fairer process, reflecting his broader concerns about partisan warfare in government investigations.

Paul’s statements add to the urgency for a WarRoom sytle Call to Ation, asking for the WarRoom audience to make calls to the Congress members about the illigitmate nature of the J6 Committee:

Paul’s critique extended to the way the January 6 committee’s actions impacted individuals like Bannon. He contended that the committee’s approach was not just flawed but also a deliberate attempt to undermine its opponents.

"I would have voted to get rid of those subpoenas and then I would have also said at that time, we’re disbanding the committee because it was a corrupt process,” Paul told Brat.

Addressing Bannon’s legal situation, Paul expressed frustration with the lack of repercussions for the committee’s actions. He argued that the Republican leadership failed to use its power effectively to challenge the committee’s decisions.

"Republicans have had a terrible job of using the power of the purse,” Paul said. He specifically criticized Speaker Mike Johnson for his vote against the majority of his caucus on issues like Ukraine funding and government spending, highlighting a broader dissatisfaction with how Republican leaders have handled crucial matters.

Paul also touched on the broader implications of Bannon’s legal struggles for the political climate in the United States. He suggested that the prosecution of individuals like Bannon is part of a pattern of governmental overreach and misuse of power.

"The so-called grand jury, which is not really a grand jury because it was a bunch of partisans,” Paul remarked, referring to the partisan nature of the investigations. He implied that such partisan processes undermine the integrity of legal and political institutions.

Paul’s perspective on Bannon’s situation reflects his broader concerns about fairness, accountability, and the politicization of legal and governmental processes. By emphasizing the need for reform and highlighting what he sees as systemic failures, Paul’s comments contribute to the ongoing debate about the role of politics in legal proceedings and the impact of such proceedings on public figures like Steve Bannon.
