Status Report: Steve Bannon and Texas State Representative Mitch Little Discuss Texas Politics
On Saturday’s WarRoom program, Steve Bannon and Texas State Representative Mitch Little discussed the alarming state of politics in Texas, drawing parallels with Washington, D.C. Little emphasized that while Texas is often seen as the heart of conservative America—where Trump won by 14 points—its political system is deeply compromised.
“I came down here for a couple of campaign things,” Bannon began. “But I had no earthly idea of the depth of the problem until I spent the weekend here. It’s actually worse than I thought.”
Little echoed Bannon’s concerns, explaining that Texas, like D.C., is plagued by “rent-seeking behavior” and “regulatory capture.” He described how large corporations and government work together to stifle entrepreneurship. “Everything in Texas politics now is about inviting the uniparty,” Little said, adding that this creates an environment where special interests thrive at the expense of the “little guy”—small businesses and entrepreneurs.
The two also discussed the push towards totalitarianism within both state and federal systems. “How do we silence the little guy? How do we suppress small businesses in favor of global corporations?” Bannon asked. Little agreed, noting that the “uniparty” is using the same tactics in Texas as they are in D.C. to protect their power and prevent true capitalism from flourishing.
One of the most troubling revelations came when Little described the political climate in the Texas House. He explained how, despite Texas Republicans’ strong showing in elections, the system is designed to keep power in the hands of a select few. “When you confront them, they say, ‘No more,’ and essentially hand power to the vice chairs,” Little explained. “It’s an illusion.”
Little also shed light on the “predetermined liturgy” of legislation that passes in Texas, stating that Republicans accept only the bare minimum reforms to keep voters satisfied. “Just a little bit of property tax relief here, a little bit of school choice there,” Little said. “It’s just enough to keep the rebellion at bay.”
The conversation then turned to the simmering tension in the Texas legislature. Little described the situation as a “pot simmering at 210 degrees” that could soon boil over. He warned that a few politically charged issues, such as the debate over the speaker’s role, could ignite a full-scale confrontation.
When asked about the future of Texas, Little highlighted the state’s enormous potential if it could foster true capitalism. “If we actually have capitalism here, the future is so bright,” he said. “People are moving here for the freedom, for the economic opportunities. But it’s not a permissive environment.”
Little then dropped a bombshell. He revealed that a deal had been struck in the Texas House to trade school choice for the legalization of casino and sports gambling. “The reason Democrats are desperate for it is because it’s a massive way to fund big government,” Little explained. He warned that this move would not only expand government but also lead to negative social consequences, such as increased human trafficking and drug smuggling.
“The gambling vote will happen this session,” Little confirmed. “They control the agenda, and they’ll push this through.”
Despite the bleak picture of Texas politics, Little remained hopeful about the future. He pointed to fighters like Shelley Luther and Brian Harrison, who are working hard to challenge the system. “There’s always a remnant,” Little said. “We just need to find the right candidates and mobilize the grassroots.”

MISSION REPORT: TEXAS MAGA UNDER SIEGE – BANNON SOUNDS THE ALARM
In conclusion, both Bannon and Little painted a picture of a Texas that’s far from the conservative stronghold many believe it to be. Political power is concentrated in the hands of the uniparty, and the state is facing mounting challenges from special interests, regulatory capture, and the expansion of government. However, there’s still hope if true conservatives can unite and fight back. The upcoming gambling vote will be a key moment in this ongoing battle for the future of Texas.
