Steve Bannon didn’t mince words on Friday’s WarRoom in a passionate warning about what’s happening in the Pacific, and what it says about where America stands right now under President Donald Trump. He reminded us that the small islands scattered across the Pacific aren’t just dots on a map, they’re soaked in American blood. Our young men fought and died for them in World War II, taking on a brutal enemy that refused to surrender an inch. And now? Those same islands are being eyed—and infiltrated—by a different kind of enemy: the Chinese Communist Party.
"This is one of our most treasured resources,” Bannon said. "And the CCP takes it seriously. Why don’t we?”
Bannon’s frustration wasn’t just with foreign threats; it was with the elites here at home. He lit into them for selling America out to China while pretending they’re still in charge. "They’re stealing with both hands,” he said, "and they’re in bed with our enemy.”
The stakes, according to Bannon, couldn’t be higher. The Pacific theater was the site of some of the bloodiest battles in American history. If you want to understand the brutality of it, Bannon recommends two books: “With the Old Breed” and “Helmet for My Pillow.” Both inspired HBO’s miniseries The Pacific, which showed just how horrific—and heroic—those battles were. These weren’t just military operations; they were human meat grinders. Seventeen-, eighteen-, and nineteen-year-old kids, barely trained, were told to take fortified islands where the enemy’s standing orders were to fight to the death.
"These young men gave everything,” Bannon said. "And now we have an elite class that can’t even be bothered to protect the territory they died for.”
He then pivoted to today’s threat: the Chinese Communist Party. Not the Chinese people—Bannon made a clear distinction. "The Chinese Communist Party is the mortal enemy of the Chinese people, the American people, and all of mankind.” He called them every bit as bloodthirsty as past dictators, even suggesting they could be worse than Hitler in terms of their systematic brutality.
And while the CCP pushes forward, our so-called leaders are too busy cashing checks. "Never in American history have the elites made more money on the way down than they did on the way up—and all in business with the rising power.”
Bannon also tore into the idea that America is in a noble "tech race” with China. He doesn’t buy it. Why? Because we’re training their engineers. "They’re not here studying Renaissance poetry,” he said. "They’re in our STEM programs, taking our knowledge home.” At some schools, 80–90% of graduate students in science and engineering fields are Chinese nationals.
The bottom line? America’s Pacific legacy is being trampled by greed, cowardice, and betrayal. President Trump gets it—and Bannon’s hoping the rest of the country wakes up before it’s too late. "Let’s honor the ones who died by taking this threat seriously,” Bannon said.
