Steve Bannon and national security expert Dan Caldwell issued a grave warning during Monday’s WarRoom: The United States, under President Trump’s leadership, is being maneuvered toward full-scale war in Ukraine — a war we can’t win, can’t afford, and never voted for. The American people must demand clarity, restraint, and a strategic exit before it’s too late.
1. Escalation Without Strategy
Caldwell opened by addressing a major weapons deal reportedly in the works, potentially involving long-range missiles. He emphasized, "Even if these weapons are sent, they’re not going to fundamentally change the dynamics of this war.” Ukraine lacks the troops — with up to 8 million having fled and possibly a million dead or wounded — and the West lacks the industrial capacity to continue feeding this conflict.
The battlefield reality is brutal: "Russia has a 3-to-1 manpower advantage,” Caldwell said. "And they’ve hardened critical infrastructure in anticipation of long-range strikes. This won’t give Ukraine an edge. It just raises the risk.”
2. Bannon: "We Are on the Precipice”
Steve Bannon made it clear that the situation is spiraling beyond control: "We’re about to arm people we have literally no control over,” he warned. "This is not Global War on Terror. This is old-fashioned, grinding war in the bloodlands of Europe — and we’re being dragged into it.”
Bannon compared the current moment to the lead-up to World Wars I and II, where small escalations triggered cataclysmic conflict. "These things spin out of control,” he said. "If Ukraine launches a reckless strike — like they did in Operation Spider Web — it could hit a strategic nuclear target and trigger Russian escalation we can’t stop.”
3. Why We’re Still There
Caldwell outlined a disturbing truth: many leaders in Ukraine, Europe, and even the U.S. do not want peace. "There are people in Washington and in Ukraine who benefit from prolonging this war,” he said. "It delays peace talks. It delays accountability.”
He pointed out that even inside the Ukrainian government, not everyone is on board. "Many officials didn’t even know about Spider Web. Some were on their way to peace talks in Istanbul when that operation sabotaged everything.”
4. No Victory, No Exit Plan
Bannon warned that President Trump is being boxed in: "He gave Putin a shot at de-escalation. Now Putin’s just said, ‘Thanks, I got this. Butt out.’” With the NATO Secretary General visiting the White House and American forces already forward-deployed in Poland and Eastern Europe, Trump is being pushed up the "escalatory ladder.”
The U.S. is being dragged toward a "major, major conflict on the Eurasian landmass,” Bannon said. "And guess who they’ll turn to when it spins out of control? Uncle Sugar. That means you, the American taxpayer.”
5. Call to Action — What Can You Do?
Americans must act now.
Call your representatives and demand an end to unauthorized military escalation in Ukraine.
Insist on transparency: What are the objectives? What does success look like?
Reject endless war. Tell Congress that you will not support candidates who back more money and weapons for a proxy war with no strategy and no accountability.
As Bannon bluntly put it: "We’re being lied to. We’re being set up. And the price could be another world war.”
Assessment:
This isn’t about supporting or opposing Ukraine — it’s about stopping reckless U.S. entanglement in a war we didn’t vote for. As President Trump tries to navigate a pressure campaign from NATO and neocon holdovers inside the system, the America First movement must raise its voice.
Our soldiers, our money, and our national interest are on the line. And time is running out.
