Steve Bannon said on WarRoom that the courts, Congress, accountability failures, and the future of the republic are at the center of what he called a historic crime against January 6 defendants.
He said President Trump told Charlie Kirk in December 2024 that he came back and endured everything because he believes he won the 2020 election, and that if it is not resolved, the country does not survive. If a coup can steal the nation, he said, the republic is already lost.

He said he kept telling himself it could not be true, noting that some of the judges involved, including his own, were Trump appointees. He added that what the courts legally did to these citizens amounts to one of the greatest crimes in the history of the republic.

Bannon then turned to Congress, saying House Republicans scheduled an all day briefing at the Kennedy Center on January 6 to avoid being near the Capitol and facing questions from reporters. Julie Kelly followed by saying she was told there would be hearings in 2025 featuring January 6 defendants, their families, and attorneys, but none ever happened. She said the lack of accountability begins in Congress, leaving many people deeply frustrated.

Bannon closed by crediting Julie Kelly with making accountability possible, saying her years spent in courtrooms documenting the cases firsthand are the reason pardons and commutations happened. He said her credibility with Donald Trump was decisive, calling Kelly a patriot and a hero.
