In a blistering conversation on Wenesday’s WarRoom, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton and host Steve Bannon laid bare what they say is the rot at the center of American power: a rogue intelligence network embedded within the federal government — the Deep State — that is determined to protect its own and destroy political threats, especially President Donald J. Trump.
"They took out Kennedy in a coup. They took out Nixon. They tried to take out Trump — twice — and they’re still at it,” he warned, tying together historical cover-ups with the current-day lawfare and bureaucratic sabotage facing the Trump administration.

BANNON: We don’t control DOJ, CIA, FBI, or the Pentagon. The same deep state took out Kennedy and Nixon.
They see everyone as a passing figure.

The conversation focused heavily on the Epstein files, which Fitton described as the crown jewel of Deep State concealment. Despite court orders and ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) litigation by Judicial Watch, the Department of Justice continues to withhold critical information about Epstein’s clients, visitors, and possible intelligence ties. "They’re protecting the people that protected Epstein,” Fitton said, referring to both the intelligence community and the Justice Department.
Fitton revealed that Judicial Watch is actively suing for records and videos connected to Epstein’s activities, including material from the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and FBI. "This material is in the possession of federal agencies that were supposed to be investigating Epstein but instead were covering for him,” he stated. According to Fitton, the DOJ recently issued a sealed memo halting further disclosures — an act he says is "an attack on transparency and on Trump supporters demanding accountability.”
Bannon went further, asserting that the CIA, FBI, and DOJ are acting as a “permanent security apparatus” — a Deep State machine that sees President Trump as a threat to its very survival. "They view Trump as a passing figure. And they are planning for what comes after him. That’s why we have to destroy them now,” Bannon emphasized. He described this intelligence class as unelected, unaccountable, and fundamentally opposed to constitutional government. "They’re not loyal to the Republic. They’re loyal to themselves,” Bannon said.
The pair also touched on the JFK assassination records, which remain partially redacted decades after the fact. Fitton linked the JFK files to the Epstein cover-up, arguing both serve as proof of entrenched government secrecy designed to protect elite interests. "What are they still hiding?” he asked. "If the truth would destroy the trust in institutions, maybe the problem is with the institutions.”
Bannon agreed and pivoted to the current administration under Trump. "This is why Trump’s second term must be total war on the administrative state,” he said. Both agreed that President Trump needs to declassify, disclose, and dismantle the structures that enable this level of corruption. Fitton said the FOIA process should be accelerated by executive order and all sealed records related to Epstein, JFK, and Russiagate should be immediately unsealed by Trump.
"We don’t control the DOJ, the FBI, or the CIA — and that’s the problem,” Bannon said in closing. "Until we do, they’ll keep running shadow operations against our elected president and against the American people.”
