Nancy Pelosi’s remarks at a 2011 press conference asserting President Obama “did not need authorization” to use force in Libya is the latest example of the double standard that exists for President Trump.

A reporter inquires: “Madam Leader, you’re saying that the president did not need authorization initially and still does not need any authorization from congress on Libya.

Pelosi responds: “Yes.”

In contrast, Pelosi’s official statement in response to the killing of General Qassem Soleimani attacks President Trump for not seeking congressional authorization:

“The Administration has conducted tonight’s strikes in Iraq targeting high-level Iranian military officials and killing Iranian Quds Force Commander Qasem Soleimani without an Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) against Iran.  Further, this action was taken without the consultation of the Congress.”

War Room: Impeachment co-host Raheem Kassam further explains this double standard.
