On Episode 66 of War Room: Impeachment, host Raheem Kassam explains how the two articles of impeachment Democrats proposed today demonstrate their weak case for impeachment.
Kassam describes: “We’ve just seen the fourth President of the United States face impeachment now as the Democrats bring forth 2 articles of impeachment which is at least half of what we were expecting. We were expecting 4 if not more articles to be levied against the president. This just goes to show how weak the Democrats may think their case is and especially what the substance of those articles are: abuse of power and obstruction of congress.”
Missing is the more “hardline” accusations like “bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors, treason, or extortion.” Instead, “they’ve gone for very flexible things.”
Kassam contends: “It’s because the nation has been their focus group right now. Seeing what has been happening at town halls all across the country, especially in swing districts. Seeing what’s been happening in the media when their guys are getting chopped up. Seeing moderate Democrats in those moderate, swing districts like that of Rep. Max Rose saying don’t go back to the Mueller Report, we don’t want to do this, and we want to stick to things we can prove.”
Abuse of power and obstruction of congress “are the things they think they can prove, and it goes to show once again that despite what CNN and all these guys saying over the last couple of weeks about the testimonies of people like Fiona Hill, Bill Taylor, how they said bombshell, bombshell, bombshell, I think we went through a week of bombshells, the “blitz” here on Capitol Hill, and it only amounted to these two articles.”
Kassam also notes how “it was a very somber tone in there when Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler went up there to announce these 2 articles. They didn’t take any questions which is another tell.”
