“When [the American public] voted for President Trump, they were voting to drain the swamp,” Jenny Beth Martin, the co-founder and national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots, discussed with Stephen K. Bannon, Raheem Kassam, and Jason Miller on Episode 17 of War Room: Impeachment.
“We have to get rid of these [establishment] people who want to keep doing the same thing we’ve been doing for years, for decades,” Martin continued.
Kassam emphasized: “You say they didn’t vote for these people… The voters of 2016 actively voted against the career political class, against the establishment, and against the way foreign policy had been done in the U.S. for the last thirty to forty years.”
Bringing up the disgruntled nature of a many pushing for impeachment over their loss of jobs or change in foreign policy, Martin furthered: “We voted for Trump, against those people. We voted for Trump to fire those people.”
Former Ukrainian Ambassador Yovanovich is an example of this, as the Tea Party Patriots coordinator explained: “President Trump was her boss and he gets to decide if she works or not… You don’t get to go out and destroy your former employers… When I read her testimony I see someone who has an axe to grind, a chip on her shoulder.”
In looking for impeachment, Martin said the Democrats are “out to void the vote the rest of us took in the heartland of the country.”
Martin closed the show by stating: “[Democrats] not only hate Donald Trump, but they hate most of us who voted for him.”
