On Episode 15 of War Room: Impeachment, host Raheem Kassam links the Democrat’s witless pursuit of impeachment to the detriment of candidates in the 2020 Democratic primary, demonstrated by Beto O’Rourke’s recent decision to drop out of the race.
Kassam outlines impeachment’s impact: “Is O’Rourke is the first casualty of this Democrat impeachment process? Here you have Nancy Pelosi and a whole shift away from the candidates. Something that someone like Beto needed was really attention. And with attention comes money and fundraising and activists and door knockers. It seems like this process has starved some of the lower tier candidates of oxygen and the ability to go out there and raise money.”
He continues, pointing out how candidates that independently finance their campaigns are immune to the effects of impeachment: “Meanwhile you have Tom Steyer, an anti-corporation billionaire, who is able to stay in the race while someone like Beto, who ran Cruz pretty close, is out.”
Co-host Jason Miller adds: “Candidates in these early primaries in both parties absolutely survive on earned media. Can they catch fire? Can they get things going? This is really a deal the Democrats are making with the devil here, spending time attacking President Trump.
He also predicts that impeachment will impact more candidates than just O’Rourke: “This is not just going to be Robert Francis. It’s also going to be every other Democrat up until the February 3rd Iowa caucus because this impeachment battle is going to keep on going.”
