On Episode 28 of War Room: Impeachment, Congressman Matt Gaetz joined Stephen K. Bannon, Raheem Kassam, and Jason Miller to discuss the first public hearings and Intelligence Committee lineup.
“Where do we stand right now with getting more the killers up there on the [committee]?” Bannon asked Gaetz. “This is about defending the President of the United States, defending this movement. And personalities and feeling have got to be put aside.”
“Unfortunately the Majority Leader [Kevin McCarthy] has only put Mr. [Jim] Jordan on the Intelligence Committee,” Gaetz replied. “I think that also Lee Zeldin and Mark Meadows having been in the transcribed interviews, having been in the star chamber, they have an understanding of the witnesses, the body language, the particular points of discomfort for the witnesses – that would be very helpful to us.”
“And I think that members who have already announced their retirement from the Congress would be ideal candidates [to be replaced], to be maybe be looking at the next chapter in their lives. Not that they haven’t done great work, not that they’re not great intelligence analysts. But this is not intelligence work, this is impeachment work. And we need to field the a-team. The presidency deserves no less than the best defense that we can offer against this bullsh*t.”
